Through the years of my professional photography, I have traveled to many places during the fall season in the Ozarks area as this is the area I live in. With all the National Forests in the area, Ozark Mountains, rolling hills, lakes, waterfalls and more, it will not disappoint anyone looking for some beautiful color.
There are so many places that it's hard to narrow down to my favorite and I surely can't put them in order of favorite to least favorite lol.
There are a lot of historic grist mills in the area that are all beautiful during the fall. Below are some photo examples but here's a list of mills I have been to that I recommend seeing:

Mark Twain National Forest in Missouri is a massive area that has a lot of great places to visit during the fall season (this includes most of the mills listed above). In addition to the mills, here's a list of other places I've been to in Mark Twain National Forest that I recommend.

3. Elephant Rocks State Park in Belleview, Missouri

When it comes to state parks and national landmarks in the area, my favorites for fall are:
1. Ha Ha Tonka State Park in Camdenton, Missouri
2. Bennett Spring State Park near Lebanon, Missouri
3. Buffalo National River in Arkansas
4. Ozark National Mountains in Arkansas
5. Natural Falls State Park in Colcord, Oklahoma
6. Petit Jean State Park in Arkansas
7. Mammoth Spring State Park in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas
To add to my list, here are a few other random places that are a great visit during the fall.
1. Dogwood Canyon, Lampe Missouri
2. Tanyard Creek, Belle Vista, Arkansas
3. Warsaw, Missouri (Truman Dam)
4. Boxley Valley near Ponca, Arkansas (Great place to watch wild Elk fight and play during the fall)
5. Lost Valley Trail near Ponca, Arkansas
6. Ruth and Paul Henning Conservation in Branson, Missouri
