Have you ever thought about how many children there are looking for or needing a loving and caring home? As a mother and a daughter who grew up in a loving home, it's truly heartbreaking to see a child in need. On average in the United States alone, there are approx 450,000 - 600,000 children in foster care and countless children who are homeless or are in bad situations. In this article, I'm thrilled to help promote Nightlight Christian Adoptions. If you have been considering adoption or know someone who is, check out their various locations nationwide
to see if there there's one near you.
James 1:27 (NIV): “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world”
Nightlight offers Domestic Adoption, International Adoption, Foster Care-Adopt, and Embryo adoption programs. They are an advocate for c
hildren in all stages of development from pre-born to the child aging out of orphanage or foster system. They are Hague accredited and provide services to children and families in 9 US states and 11 locations. They've been a trusted adoption service since 1959.
Today's culture gives us mixed messages about adoption There are many misconceptions and stereotypes about parenting or choosing to adopt. Unfortunately, there are a lot of myths and false information out there. Times have changed and adoptions have changed dramatically over the years. The birth parents can choose the adoptive family for their child and can also maintain various amounts of contact with their child.
John 14:18 (NIV): “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you”
If you are considering adopting, it will start with a home study. Its purpose is not to give your home 'the white glove inspection' but to help prepare you to be the best adopting parent you can be and to make sure the child will be going to a safe home. They offer educational training programs based on the type of adoption you choose to help you through the process. They work with you from decision making to planning to post adoption. They are committed to the families current and future success.
We all know adoptions can be costly and some can't afford it. So in 2014, Nightlight
launched AdoptionBridge.org. It is a website connecting placing parents, waiting children, and adopting families by bridging the gap between the emotional needs and financial challenges of adoption. It empowers families by providing them a crowdfunding tool to encourage cooperative funding of their adoption expenses.
If you are not looking to adopt but would like to help put a child into a loving and caring home they deserve, there's always the option to donate through Adoption Bridge.
More than 2,000 domestic adoptions, 1,700 international adoptions and 550 embryo adoptions have been completed by Nightlight. Let's help those numbers to grow and give children the life they deserve!
